She has no STDs. She had a yeast infection a few months ago but took medication and it's long gone. It smells like something very disgusting and tastes salty (but that's the usual taste). It's just very unpleasant.

Any reasons why?

We have already discussed the closeness to her period but that's not a factor for us.

She's not very healthy. That's probably a big factor.

And no, it's not a recurrent yeast infection because she knows the symptoms.

So I guess the main reason is because she's unhealthy? She is slightly overweight and does not eat healthy foods. This is the best reason?

No itching or irritations.
I think it's just her unhealthiness.

After she showers, it's all good. The only bad is the taste... I bet it's the smell of her secretion.

This is normal. A woman is completely healthy and normal if her discharge is cloudy white has no odor or has a slightly salty odor. Please see the website below for much more detail.

However, if it did not used to be salty, it is possible she has an infection. I know she has been treated for a yeast infection and hopefully the doctor has checked for any other infections (not necessarily and STD, can be a non-sexually transmitted infection as well).

If you go to a specialty store, there are lots of great things you can buy that you can put down there that have a very pleasant smell and taste and will mask the smell/tast that you find unpleasant. If your gf knows you find it unpleasant, she won't be enjoying herself, so it's important to find something that works for both of you..

It is normal for a woman to smell. Pheromones release (sex attractors) to attract males. This problem could also be caused by tight clothes causing excess sweating hence the salty taste. Douching and other chemicals could be the problem, may cause irritation and discharge by altering the body's natural secretion,

how healthy does she eat, and does she eat asparagus? unhealthy eating and asparagus both cause bad odours etc down there, as does being vegetarian.. if she just keeps a balanced diet and drinks more water, and exercises, il bet the prob will go away.
another thing u could consider, is wat she uses for hygeine down there. washing inside with soap can affect the ph level, and even the wrong soaps.... so i would say for her not to wash inside the vagina and just wash on the outside..

take all this into account, and maybe you'll find ur solution... or u could just face the facts that its what nature gave her, in which case, im very sorry for you both..

good luck dude!

ps: or it could be the lube if u use it...

Because of the smell it's possible she could have a bacterial infection going on such as bacterial vaginosis but the only way to know for sure is for her to see her doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think is going on.
