Yes,definitely. Not just for the senior's sake, either. If people would value senior citizens as the treasure they are and listen to the wisdom that can only come with age,do you realize how many of the world's problems could be solved overnight?

Yes. Senior citizen s need more attention. We can classify it in 2 broad categories: 1) financial 2) emotional. All senior citizens have not secured themselves in the finanacial front, may be due to insuffieicnt income during their hey days and excessive family needs ; This can be only set right by their children supporting them and the Govt. also should step in with approrpiate schemes forssenior citizens like in western countires. Emotional problems can only be solved by the children by showing thier care and attention for them, particularly like in many families now, the children are far away in other countries. Some people necessarily shift to old age homes for want of attention from the youngsters, and to keep them engaged in one form or other to forget/suppress their emotions at being neglected. The youngsters should appreciate that they are what they aretoday is because of the sacrifices of their parents to bring them up.! AG Ramasubramanian

Why Senior Citizens only. Every citizen needs more attention, by one way or the other.

Our culture is changing and it's about youth and beauty at the end of a knife, thousands of dollars, and taking chances of disfigurement. pain and sometime death. The view of senior citizens are changing and not for the good. The respect for seniors is at risk.

I think that it's very much like "if you want a friend, be a friend" when it comes to attention. Make your views known, and when you need help, ask for it. There is a world of difference between charity and receiving a helping hand.

In my view senior citizens should be paid more attentions as they desreve it as well as they need it.Siblings should be made to pay attentions to their senior citizens..Now a days sons and daughters, specially sons stop paying attentions to their aged parents which some how needs to be arrested/stopped..When kids needed, parents payed attentions to them ,,now parents need attention, so kids should pay attention to them,,,,,,,,,

I don't get a lot of attention, but what I do get is more than I need or want. If seniors want attention they need to make it known to someone willing to give it, but only for themselves.

I don't want any blanket attention efforts straying over into my territory.

I am only 56, but I definitely agree. I have no family. And, I already worry about the "what ifs"...like what if I can't get out to go where I need to go...doctor, groceries, etc. Or, what if I fall at home. Or, what if I have a stroke or heart attack. Living alone can be scary, but living alone with no family is worse. I want some attention!!!
