New England has faced down either all of the play off teams or has beaten teams that are going into the playoffs. It doesn't get harder than that.
They beat:
10-5 Steelers
13-2 Colts
13-2 Cowboys
10-5 Chargers
Might beat the 10-5 Giants
All of those are play off teams.
The only playoff teams they don't play in the regular season are:
11-4 Jags (Lost to Colts twice)
12-3 Green Bay (Lost to The Cowboys)
9-6 Tampa (Lost to the Colts)
10-5 Seahawks (Lost to the Browns and Steelers)
Those teams losts against teams the Patriots beat.
There are two wild card teams yet undecided. Those could be one of the following:
Titans (Lost to Colts and Bengals)
Browns (beat them already)
Redskins (beat them already)
Vikings (Lost to Dallas and Washington)
Saints (Lost to Colts)
Here too, New England faced tougher teams or beat even those teams.

Well, as part of their rotation the Pats played:
1. Their division. Even w/ 2 of the 3 other teams really down this year, games against division rivals can't be overlooked since you get the other teams best and they are often built to beat you. Look at Philly over Dallas. Chicago over Green Bay TWICE. Indy last year losing 3 games in division to all non playoff teams (And in college, Stanford over USC & Pitt over West Virginia). 6-0.
2. The entire AFC North division, which may end up including 2 playoff teams (depending on what the Titans do this weekend). 4-0
3. The entire NFC East (except the Giants which they will do Saturday). Two teams are locked into the playoffs, and a 3rd (Washington) who controlls their own destiny for another spot. 3-0 so far.
4. And for their last 2 games, they get to play just one team from the other 2 divisions. And in both cases, the game was against the head & shoulders best team from that division, Indy & San Diego. 2-0.
Fact is that the Pats do need to improve, and both the Colts & Jags will be scary opponets. (And there's no guarantee that they will have to go through both teams... If Tennessee or Cleveland wins that first playoff game they go to Foxborough and the winner of the Jags WC game plays the Colts). And anything can happen any Sunday. But the Pats, both by their record and who they beat (and often by how much), they have PROVEN to be the favorite to win this year.

Technically the patrios had one of the thoughest schedules on paper. However the Eagles, Ravens and the Bills have not lived up to the expecations that were set out for them after the season ended last year. The Eagles and Raven gave the patriots all they could handle and I do agree that the Refs had something to do with the Patriots on Monday night against the Ravens. None the less, give credit where credit is due, Because the motto of the NFL is Any Given Sunday!!! And they have beat everyone up to this point. Only one team left to knock them out and that's the New York Giants.

what about the other 6 games, excrement for brains.
everyone has some weak teams on their schedule, and the fact that the pats are on the schedule of those teams has something to do with why their record is bad.
the pats played all the other division winners, indy, sandiego, pittsburgh, plus dallas, the top team in the nfc... they had the most difficult schedule in the nfl to run the table with. the only top record team they didnt have to play is GB and we know how that would've turned out anyway, GB is a joke, lost 35-7 to the bears.

your a dumb *** the records dont mean **** of how some teams played the pats. The eagles played the pats to the wire as well as the ravens if it wasn't for officiating - they would have won in one of the games. Watch out for the Bills- lately they have been scoring points on the board and next year it could be there coming out party as they slack off early then try to make a run at the playoffs.

I am not a pats fan by no means, but a record means nothing in the NFL, all these guys are pros, best of the best, so anyone can win on any given sunday, and the pats have been lucky enough to do it for 15 weeks now.
You have to remember, half the teams lose every sunday!

If the Pats played in the weakest division to be undefeated, then there Super Bowl chances have to be weak to win it all. Don't get me wrong, I can't stand the Pats.

it's a weak division they're in and that helped no doubt, however they did beat dallas 48-27 , indianapolis 24-20 , and pittsburgh 34-13 . the 1st 2 on the road so they still beat good quality teams in the process of being 15-0 . so until somebody knocks them off their high horse , they're the best in the nfl until further notice !!!!

I think that the division is not bad. I think that you could say that if the Pats were not so good, maybe Buffalo might be a playoff team. Also they have played 5 playoff teams this season. Dallas, Pitt, Indy, Cleveland, and SD.

Well let's see. They play six games against their division. 2 of which were against the Bills who weren't all that bad. And then they played 9 of 10 so far against the rest of the NFL and won all of those. They played the Colts (playoff bound), Chargers (playoff bound), Cowboys (playoff bound), Steelers (playoff bound), Browns (playoff contender), and are going to play the Giants (playoff bound). I'm sorry did you say something about the schedule. Maybe you have them confused with the Seahawks.
