I plan on graduating early and entering college as a 16 year-old (I'm taking a test called the CHSPE for California residents.) Since I can't immediately enter into a 4-year university from high school, I'm going to go to community college for two years and then transfer. Can I get into Stanford from community college if I have a 4.0 (in community college) and a 2200-2300 on my SATs?

I'm graduating early because high school bores me, I feel suffocated, and I'm extremely ready to move on in life.

You might want to contact the admissions office about that. Transferring to Stanford is more difficult and competitive than entering as a freshman.....last year they only admitted 40 transfer students out of the hundreds of applications that they received. If you attend a community college for two years then you would be considered a transfer. I would contact the admissions office and get their opinion on what your best options would be especially if they are your number one choice.

There is nothing wrong with community college. It is a great place to earn your credits, develop strong study habits, and save money all at the same time. If going to a CC is a serious consideration, you should go for it. And you're right that the core courses are generally the same. The one bit of advice I'd give on it would be to focus on courses that are transferable. It'll help to get the course catalog for the schools and compare the descriptions/requirements/texts. With proper planning, you can transfer to the university (with core requirements out of the way) and 1/2 way to your 4 year degree. As for pros and cons? Living in dorms adds to the cost and can sometimes be distracting. But it can also be a "growing experience". It all depends on the individual.

you will want to find out if your community college has an articulation agreement with stanford. The agreement basically tells you what courses will transfer (many schools have these) so you don't have to retake classes after you transfer.

Check out the student portion of this website I think it will help.

I can't say for sure, but the numbers are against you. Freshman students have an 11% admission rate and they accept very few transfer students.

if u go as a transfer i believe they wouldnt look at your scores...not matter hows tellar they are. hate to burst ur bubble but they accept a VERY small percentage of transers and they are usually from accredited institutions.....you can always try though and see what happens...good luck!
