Scary article. But I am confident that the business world will keep finding ways for us to consume.

In the meantime, there are some things we can do. First and foremost, we can buy things that LAST and when they need repair, repair them! Insist on using things that can be re-used. Instead of paper plates, use real dishes. Use leftovers instead of throwing away food. Be intelligent about what you will need. Buy used when you can and it is appropriate.

And of course, the simplest idea is simply to simplify your life. We are constantly told we NEED the newest, the biggest, and the truth is, no, we don't.

Believe it or not it's the credit cards companies
and the lack of power & the determination of the people to stop spending what they DON'T have!
The temptation is huge when you wish to buy big screen TV and with credit card and a company that tells you that you don't have to pay for three month ..eh,what the Heck ...why not ?
on the other hand if you don't have a card and you must pay cash...your wish for having a big screen TV will continue to be a dream and that dream of yours will not be fulfilled until you save in order to buy it only through the old fashion way and it is called saving first...Capisci ?

You can reduce your spending by redirect your gain to poor or their supporting organization.

You can also plant more plant in your dinning room. There was a design by IKEA which make your dinning room as a garden. Of course, you need some plants which can survive in a less light situation.
