Electro magnetic pulse will disable electronic equipment and its posible our defences could be comprimized with one. However its not sustainable to do damage to humans becose it would reqire great amounts of power to last long enough to cook you. We are by the way developing microwave wepons that are focused in a narow beem and would allow a sweep of a battlefield and all the solders would disarm themselves due to the intense build up of heat to their metal weopons and armor, or so ive been told from an old boss i used to work for who had been privy to this type of tech back in the erly 80s
