why did they end the movie so suddenly? it didnt even finish the book. it cant be because the director wanted it to end in a cliffhanger, since the actual end of the first book is a cliffhanger by itself...

Seemed like an ending to me. They went on this big journey to save the kids and her friend, that was all over with. Then they just had a big dialog about stuff to do next. Seemed and ending with just an introduction in what to expect in a sequel.

i don't know but that movie sucked
they made a huge deal about the compass in the comercials but really had nothing to do with it

probley wanted to make a second so they could make more money. However i heared the first one did really bad so there might not be a second one.
