Even some things that say made in USA aren't. How do you tell what was manufactured here? Many Japanese cars are manufactured in the U.S. Where I work there is no tag stating the product was made in the U.S. even though I know it was. It isn't meant to be relevant anymore.

We are encouraged to buy imports by the omission of a tag showing the origin of the product in some cases. If people try to boycott, watch what happens. We are supposed to be grateful that in giving up our manufacturing jobs, we can buy cheaper products. Many products have parts in them that come from all over the world.

Corporatism. Almost no small buisnesses is why our economy is getting the crap kicked out of it. This is our greatest weakness and China knows it. Thats why China is manipulating its currency to devalue ours.

Instead of dropping corporatism, the corporate controlled leadership wants to make America a central hub of the world for immigration and so foreign countries can invest. It is to make a one world government, but the plan is highly flawed. The society would be too ruthless and collapse the whole system. It has to be a utopian society to work, which means America would have to revert back to morals, values, and integrity.

Basically, they are going to completely collapse our country with greed.

Everyone believes that China is the largest manufacturer in the world. Wrong. American manufacturers ares till by far the world leaders. The value of all those foreign imports is still not even close to the goods we produce in our own country.

In response to bdog1321:

Democrats support Buy American, too - and we're the ones who boycott WalMart, Kohl's, etc., the stores who love to bring us low prices - but at whose expense are these low prices? Their employees, who have no health care? The people who make the items, who are essentially sweatshop workers?

Good question, omnimog!

Funny that Walmart was built on that slogan (Buy American). And the unions are nearly all gone to. Thank you Mr. President.

If you look really hard in Walmart you may find the odd item not made in China. Marmalade and curry pastes made in the UK, cat food from Canada and the US.........but hurry, before they too are replaced by Chinese products.

Those who think 'Buy American' is the way to go. You know that you guys are borrowing billions from China to fight the war in Iraq, right?

Restricting one to spend money in only one nation only reduces competition and hence quality of merchandise. If American can spend time making better cars, we wouldn't WANT to buy a Japanese car....
