This is a serious question. Lots of other groups have faced oppression (Blacks, Natives, Latinos) but none has seemed to rebound like the Jews. Why???

Secular answer: Jews were better able to assimilate into the dominant white cultures of Europe and America. Also Jews place a high priority on education.

Religious answer: God made a covenant with the Jewish people and God keeps his promises. While Jews have faced adversity in almost every country they've been in they still have managed to excel.

Also many other blacks, natives, and latinos have excelled. Be careful not to paint all groups with one brush.

Immigration.

I don't speak for my entire country, but we, here in Nicaragua, don't like the jews. If you read about the history of the Jews in Nicaragua you will find out what horrible things they went through here. All the jews (including those born here from Jewish immigrants) nearly all left. If i recall right, there are only an estimated 50 jews living here in Nicaragua as of 2006.

My country, Nicaragua, has always been associated with the Palestinian community. We have always backed them up and preferred them over any other Middle Eastern group here. When the people drove the jews away the government gave their houses and properties to the Palestinians. The Jews never became a significant economic force in Nicaragua and never will, as opposed to the Palestinians who have. They are discriminated against for their history against Palestine. If you drive around in Managua you will see much truth to this.

So, in conclusion, the Jews HAVE faced oppression and will NEVER "rebound" in my country.

Hell yeah that's a good question (lol.) It does seem like they have a history for some reason of whole societies turning against them; as America is only a 231 year old nation, maybe, as your question reflects, there are some things about them that are a mystery to Americans and Americans have yet to discover them.

GREAT QUESTION.

Because we're awesome.

Honestly, I really don't know. It seems like most of us have a certain drive to prove that we can accomplish anything in the face of adversity.

Because they aren't sitting home whining about how society "owes them something." They just made the best of things as they were and used their own strength and hard work to be successful.
