I don't believe in capital punishment so I would ask him not to be killed.

Not the death penalty, because the way the system works he will spend so many years on Death Row that I would be constantly finding out that yet again he is putting in another appeal etc. I would just want to know that he will die in prison, then at least I can mopve on a bit.

If I had a choice between giving him life in prison or the death penalty, I would give him the death penalty. Anyone that commits an atrocity such as that can't be rehabilitated, so the individual must be euthanized. There is no point in making the individual suffer.

I would probably save him. I think it would be worse being in jail for something like that. He would suffer so much more! That is for sure. He would have to be miserable. If he got the death penalty then it would be ok for him. He would not be so bored nor would he get raped and hurt in jail. I would say no death penalty! I would leave that up for God to decide.

I would never condon murder - not by a thug on the street or by the State.
Life in prison without parole accomplishes the same thing; removing a dangerous person from society forever.
The death penalty is simply revenge....it is not a punishment, not a deterrent and is costly.

Save him no, but I might try to concider if it would be a better punishiment him being kept in a cage for the rest of his life if there really was no chance for him to be paroled.
The best punishment is probably those that use every appeal possible to stay the execution only to lose at the end.

Frankly, I doubt I'd be that forgiving. But that doesn't make the death penalty "right."
When properly translated the commandment says "Thou shalt not murder."
When 12 men and women sit in a room and take their time and deliberate and arrive at a death sentence it's basically just another murder.
And you know what? Even when the SOB is executed, I wouldn't get my daughter back.
"Vengance is mine say'th the Lord."

I would NOT save him.
He is a waste of human life.
Don't put him in prison to watch cable color tv.
Don't let him have access to a computer.
Don't feed him with our tax dollars.
All said and done...stop over crowding in prisons. Just put them where they belong. In a shallow grave in the dessert.
GUILTY is guilty and should not be allowed to breathe once the person is judged as guilty without any doubts.
I hope this did not happen to you.
If so....my heart goes out to you.

I know Jesus gave many people a second chance, and calls us to turn the other cheek, but I'm afraid that I'm not that enlightened. Oh, I'm a Christian, but not only would I say no to saving this person, I would ask to be the one to pull the plug on his life.

No, because our prisons are over crowded and if you save him he would just be taken up needed space and another criminal would be set free to re-offend.
He is not getting the death penalty for missing Sunday School!

Tough question. I would hope that I would be big enought to ask for commuting it to a life sentence with no parole. We are taught to be like God. What did God do in the first murder? He banished Cain for life! This is where the basis for prison comes from.
