If you have glass doors and screens in front of your fireplace, do you have to leave the glass ones open when you burn a log?

No. Leaving the glass doors open will waste energy. The airflow up the chimney will deplete the heat you are trying to use. My Franklin woodburner exhausted 1700 cubic feet of air per hour (or more) out the chimney with the doors open.
