This bug has been coming in my houses since we put a extra room at our house this bug looks like a dried pumpkin seed or a melon seed or "cocoon" with like a black worm in it that grips or hangs off the wall or surfaces?

sounds like a case bearing moth larvae...they will attack fibers made from animal. Silk, wool sweaters, goose down pillows, furniture with animal hair stuffing.
if after the room was made did an elderly relative come to occupy it..
