Because just as Historically 98+% of congress gets reelected because everybody thinks there congressman is a good guy and all the rest are bad. to rate it by party the #'s would match the registered voter party affiliation numbers, so why wast the money spent on a poll. Just as it is obvious in your statement you would Praise the Democrats for failing to do anything meaning-full since the took control of both houses, and you would condemn the republicans for them stopping the Democrats from passing wastefull bills.
And Blaming the war or any other current event on why the congress has such a bad rating is a mere token. Congress for a long time has been rated as trusting, just barely better then used car saleman. So the current events have just knocked them from the 2nd worst to the worst, as far as professions people respect as honest or trustworthy.

In Virginia there was a recent poll that broke it down by party, and Republican Senator Warner had an approval rating 3 times as high as Democrat Senator Webb. Yet another of your lies is now exposed.
I bet you lose sleep over the fact that the Iraq war is also 3 times as popular as your beloved Democrat Congress. Now what will your Bushophobia force you to lie about next?

Well, let's see. Things were going south under Republican rule, and now that the Democrats are in power, hmm, nothing's really changed. We need to quit seeing things strictly in blue and red. They are BOTH bad for this country! They do things in different ways, but the result is the same. No matter who wins, we lose. Since no one will vote for a third party or independent candidate, because we've been brainwashed into thinking blue and red, we just need to vote out the incumbent in EVERY election. After a couple of elections, the message will be received, and only then will we see a change. But it takes everyone in one UNITED effort. I can't do it alone.

I don't think (but I could be wrong) we've ever had an even split in both houses of congress. We've had cases were the house was with one party majority and the senate another, and in those cases the approval rating was split between the two houses, but when one party controls the majority vote in both houses it's all inclusive.

The poor approvel rating is a result of Congress not ending the war in Iraq, which the Democrats have the power to do if they really wanted to.

Another great question. The Democrats have had a bad rep recently for not passing anything but in fact, a lot of the bills were not passed because of the blocks the Republicans placed as retaliation.
Shameful.

The approval rating for congress is just that, a rating for the body as a whole...
The Republican minority can't help it if the dems suck it up in there all the time, making them look bad...

Because the republicans aren't in charge. The democrats wanted to be in charge, and I know Pelosi only wanted the novelty aspect of it, but she has to take responsibility for it now.
