If you are referring to your icon text:
right click on the desktop and choose properties, then choose the appearance tab at the top, if you are using xp click on the advanced button, click on the drop down arrow that is right next to the item window and choose icon, now you can increase your font size. Do this one size at a time, then click OK and apply on the next screen to see if you like what you have chosen. If you don't like it then go back to advanced button and change it again, if you do like it then click OK and your finished.

to make the size bigger go to control panel, then display, then the appearance tab, then change font size.
