Why is it that people say so sorry for you to work the holiday, but if they would just stay at home I wouldnt have to be.

I love my job but it gets old hearing that line.

How do you respond?

Its like a minister asking me if I attend church. Um... yeah .... I am here all morning making your soup and bread sticks... I CANT....

Seriously though, I am my own boss and I HAVE to be working now. I work phones and have to hear people complain about how their card wont work... blah.

LOL! You are so right and I always wondered the same thing. As much as you want to tell them that if they stayed home you wouldn't have to work, LOL! YOu can't .

Me, I just thank them and tell them that someone has to work. It's a hint, but it's polite ;0)

appears like till you are able to circulate to a pal's you would be happening your brother's place or staying in college. Your brother is an grownup and would communicate on your dad approximately your trip if it would not tournament him. He should not be hitting you however. I doubt you're sufficiently old to be allowed domicile on my own. good success, appears like something out of a special that the herione could be dealing with, I agree.

Very well put. Now tell the store manager to lock the doors, all of the slaves will be leaving in 15 minutes.

The truth is, people need to/want to shop and you get paid. That's just how this country (US) work. As to their comments, they are just trying to be nice and sympathetic.

You could just say, "thank you, but it was a pleasure helping you," and leave it at that. I really don't think you need to personalize comments from total strangers, especially when they are trying to be nice.

I think they're trying to be nice. What are they supposed to do, laugh and point? ha ha, you have to work on Christmas!

lol, I know it gets old, but they really are trying to be nice, they don't mean to irritate you.
