I was very late this month, and today is my 41st day of the cycle since my last period, but this morning, after 2 weeks of feeling serious pregnancy symptoms, I awoke with my period...and it was full blown for a while. I put my pad on, and nothing really came out after the time i woke up, the only time i have noticed any more bleeding is if i check...ahem...internally, and then i see a ton of blood on the paper...but its bright red, and ive been finding clumps or stringy type red red flesh like stuff...but im still feeling nausea...and my hubby and i are so scared it was a miscarriage...please, if anyone has had anything like this happen, please let me know and help me ease my mind as to what this may be...ive tried calling docs and nobody is in...i need to know....

No, it doesn't sound like a miscarriage at all. What you're finding is not flesh-like stuff...it's simply clots and mucous. This does happen from time to time for everyone and time to time also varies for everyone. It could be a couple of times a year or more or less depending on the body. Take yourself out of panic mode for a moment and think. You were only about 13 days late...not much can develop in that amount of time...so no, it was not a miscarriage. If your mind isn't eased then try the ER...they'll tell you.

The doctors are not good at helping women spot early miscarriages. They often write it off as "hard cramps" or a slightly late "period."

It could every well be an early miscarriage. Did you take a pregnancy test? If it was positive then this is most likely what it is. Passing clots is not definitely a miscarriage, though. They can be a result of fibroid tumors (very common) and would be nothing to worry about.

If it is a miscarriage, the hormones that gave you those "pregnancy symptoms" don't immediately vanish. It takes some time for them to run their course. In other words, you can have a miscarriage and still experience the pregnancy symptoms for a few weeks afterwards.

My suggestion is that if you think you might be (or have been) pregnant, take a pregnancy test. If you are really 41 days into the cycle, it should definitely show if you are (were) or not. Even if it is a miscarriage, at this stage, it would be wise to involve your doctor just in case not all of the fetal material has been passed out of the uterus.

I'm really sorry that you are going through this. There isn't much they can do at this point, unfortunately, because if the miscarriage has started, they can't really stop it.

I lost three very early pregnancies so my heart goes out to you. It is still a loss, no matter what stage it happens at.

One last thing. If you have strong or sharp pain, you need to go to the ER. It could be an ectopic pregnancy and that is life-threatening.

Some ob/gyn's ask you to save expelled material so they can examine it. Other's don't say this. I'm not sure what yours would want.

I miscarried once. I woke up with cramps, I was about 6 weeks along, I went to the bathroom, felt a plop in the water and I was bleeding heavily. The cramps were so bad ( I always had cramps with a period anyway) that I was too sick to look and see if the plop was what I thought it was or what it looked like. I just went back to bed with a pad on. It was at least 35 yrs ago so i don't remember how long the bleeding lasted. I stayed home from work the next day and returned the day after and was fine. It does sound like a miscarriage but I am no Dr. and the emergency room is always open. Most Dr's also have an emergency after hr's Dr on call. I would suggest you try either that or a trip to the emergency room. One important thing to think about is if you were pregnant( did you know you were for sure?) and you may have miscarried, getting medical attention to make sure everything was cleaned out so no infection starts from remaining parts.

This could be a miscarriage. If you are around 6 weeks pregnant then you probably need to be evaluated. Many women go to emergency rooms, however, the truth is they really can't stop a miscarriage. If you continue to bleed call and get an appointment. Your blood work will need to be done to see if you are indeed pregnant and how far along you are. Then if the levels go up you will know that you are pregnant. If the levels decline you will know that your are having a miscarriage. An ultrasound can be done. If you are less than about 6 weeks a pregnancy is not visable by ultrasound. You just have to be active and not wait around if you continue to bleed. Sometimes you can get pregnant and the gestational sac does not grow and a baby will not form and you will start to bleed and pass clots and you will never know that anything other than a heavy period happened. It is the holidays, but you need to do what is best for your health and get into see a doctor if you think you are pregnant and continue to bleed.

First, take a deep breath. Hon, if it is a miscarriage it is so early that the Dr would even tell you that it wasn't technically "viable"- meaning that there was no heartbeat yet. I know that it doesn't help, but maybe it will??
It is more likely that it is your regular period. Please try to relax and think positively. Stringy and red isn't a miscarriage. At that stage the baby would be too tiny to really see at all and the placenta/lining would be dark red/brown and like a boogery clump.
I speak from experience here. Try to relax and enjoy your holidays. If you have cramping and bleeding for more than a week or if you get a fever, go to the doctor. Otherwise, I'm sure you're fine.
Blessings to you.

I had a miscarriage, and then a baby not long after, then yet another miscarriage. pondering i grew to become into instructed i wouldn't in any respect get pregnant, I seen that one a blessing. 2 years later i pass pregnant returned, and we had a good time and concept we are able to possibly not in any respect get pregnant returned. Then #3 grew to become into born 18 months after #2...WOW! Then #4 grew to become into 15 months after #3, then 18 months later #5....we began thinking it grew to become into some form of cosmic shaggy dog tale! #6 grew to become into born 2 years after #5, and selection seven (we call her seven of 7) grew to become into born 2 years after #6. My SIL additionally confronted a number of miscarriages, 4 or 5 i think of, she stopped telling us after a whilst. She have been given pregnant approximately ten years in the past nonetheless, and then popped out 5 in ten years. So we are the two fairly pleased with our little advantages. i'm sorry on your loss, i don't understand what else to enable you recognize different than to maintain your hopes up. I not in any respect concept i may well be so blessed, and that i remember those days of dread, each month of praying. We have been entire nuts for the period of our pregnancies, relatively because all of our miscarriages have been after 12 weeks...a approaches into the trimester of 'safety'.

Years ago there wasn't' a thing such as pregnancy test. One had to go to the doctor for a test. With my last pregnancy the month before I know that I was pregnant but miscarried... I was regular to the first degree.

It happens. So next month 6h you might actually get pregnant and carry full term. That happened to me...... with twins.!

I have read that more miscarriages are recorded today, because of the early pregnancy tests.

Relax... enjoy your life, and you will get pregnant when you body says it is right.

It could very well be OR you could have the normal bleeding that is associated with the fetus attatching itself to your uterus wall. The best thing you can do is to perhaps go to the ER because it could also be something that is a little more serious than a miscarriage or even the fetus attatching itself.

I wish you the best of luck

i would go to the Emergency room to be safe. But I dont think that this is a miscarrige. you would be bleeding a good bit and you would have large clots quarter sized or bigger. and you would not have to "examine" your self to see the blood (if i read the question right) you can go get a pregnancy test also cause if you are pregnant and having a miscarrige the hormone will still be in your blood stream.
