I now live in a state that does not allow fire works on any occasion...I miss it. It is the ending of a special day or celebration...Just like you eat wedding cake before you leave a wedding. These things are nice endings to things to remember....Merry Christmas

Well, In My country thats what we do we shoot fireworks in chritsmas since december 1 to december 31.

Sometimes when its december 31 the end of the year there are some people that even shoot with guns when its 12:00 of midnight. We do it because its a tradition at least in my country. It's very colorful. But where i live I have never see nobody shoot fireworks. But it will be good don't you think?

This is more traditional in hispanics countries than in The United States.

To tell you the truth, that's not a very big tradition from what I've heard of. That's more of a fourth of July tradition. However, I think it's because people think of holidays as parties, fun, and being happy. Fireworks are giant explosions of colors, and for most people, it's like explosions of happiness watching them.

People will also look for any excuse to make giant explosions in the sky or annoy people within ten blocks of them.

Whatever the reason, I love hearing and seeing fireworks. Just not when I'm trying to sleep!

I was just wondering the same thing a few hours ago when I was sledding with my husband and daughter and we heard some fireworks. I think people just use any excuse to be pyromaniacs. Any holiday will do.
