can my fantail goldfish die if the water is cold.?????/?????

It depends on how quickly the temperature change occurs. Yes, they can survive winters under the ice of a pond, provided the pond is deep enough that it doesn't freeze solid. But they may not survive if they're in a tank and are put into the same pond.

If you change the water in a tank with fish, you should try to match the temperature of the water you add with that of the water you took out. If you added a lot of cold water, you could shock your fish, depending on how cold the water was. You could always remove some of the water (if this happened) and add some dechlorinator to warm tapwater and add it SLOWLY soyour fish doesn't get a second temperature shock.

as long as the water is a t room temp it will be fine, Most petstores recomend that you keep your tank at room because on the nimouia in thire poop
