Because they were indentured servants and the gross majority of the prolonged abuse and social stigmas were endured by blacks...

TWO Reasons there isn’t much history: the Un-United Nature of Slaves+ Benefits of being the Majority

In response to the person who posed the question. I agree with you to the effect that there were white slaves. In fact Christopher Columbus sold white slaves prior to selling Black Slaves. Slavery was a kin to economic and production needs. However, racism/white power(ethnocentrism) mindset- as it is so openly displayed by the guy beneath me- was a human resources management tactic. Racism/ Ethnocentrism caused the white slaves to be treated considerably better than the blacks, thus causing within slaves groups.

Example…Imagine you are a farmer who is over numbered on his own property by his slaves(white and all shades of black). You want to ensure that your slaves aren't congregating to have an upraising that would result in your death. It can thus be hypothesized the slave owner would implant divisional devices within the slave groups. Divisional devices that would separate the slaves into group and subgroups such as whites, the mulatto and all the shades of black various shades black.

Furthermore, currently, the world leaders are the European race due to expeditions and such. As a majority group one doesn't incur the hassles of being a minority. Example: the many Jews who assimilated into American culture by changing their last names during immigration to appear more American, the fair complexioned blacks whom often pretended to be white to "pass", the on what people do to be normal spans greatly. Thus, one possible valid conclusion is the the white slaves in attempts to progress in this culture (without announcing they were slaves you really couldn't know simply by looking) neglected to mention the fact they endured slavery.

Be Blessed,

Blu

PS. Personal example: I am half-Dominican many of my relatives refused to let my cousins speak Spanish as a first language for fear that it might further alienate them from American culture.

becuse we, whites, don't dwell on the past. also we don't have the need as a race to have some form of reason/excuse for the things that have affected us. look at the site listed and learn a little reason why the history of white slavery isn't a focal point to our race.

dunno but maybe because discrimination against them does not persist because there's not a visible visual difference. legally they have been interpreted as white by the courts and had similar rights (such as marriage etc.) why don't you write a book and increase this awareness?
