World hunger was stopped about 1970. It is one of the greatest achievements of mankind. Norman Borlaug got the Nobel for it but it was a joint world effort.

Distribution is the problem. Warlords in poor countries hoard food and use it to control their populations, even to the point of allowing mass starvations while they have warehouses full of food.

None whatsoever. The world produces more than enough food to feed itself. The problem is distribution, more specifically, civil wars and government policies that restrict food trade.
