I have a Dell Latitude D610. I cannot get the restore feature to work on any bold date. It goes through the motions, but in the end, it tells me that it cannot restore?

This will happen with any brand of PC, that you use, or platform. If there is no restore point to perform a system restore, then you are out of luck. If you see a bold date, means that you can restore from that date prior to the problem and the system will either perform a full 100% restore, or restore incomplete but still will fix your problem.

If you continue to have problems, get out the serial number of your PC and contact Dell. Dell offers good support.

At the top, right, there is a link to "chat."

I have come across this in the past, on more than one occasion. However, the last time, it didn't work for me. It subsequently worked in safe mode.

The probable reason for this is that you are using Norton Security Center. If you are, you can get around it by applying the fix found in:
