It was re-released in theaters recently. Maybe that's why the DVD was pulled?

A Google search isn't returning anything....
Is it possible that the movie was just sold out, and your friend misunderstood it...? Anyway, movies will get pulled for any number of reasons.....public safety reasons, quality reasons, business and marketing reasons....it's also hypothetically possible that som, ebody at the store just considered the movie offensive and it was pulled because of that, but you should prolly call the store after Christmas if you want to know for sure. Sometimes a specific store will pull a product if here were problems with their particular shipment (e.g. if there were known to be lots of broken pieces and/or the discs had accidentally gotten contaminated with something) , even if most other stores haven't had a probalem with theirs. This is done mainly to protect the store from any legal liability, though the other issue is, of course, the safety of its consumers.
But then sometimes, some random whacko just doesn't like the movie and doesn't want to keep it in stock! ;)

Maybe cuz too many people wanted to buy it from Best Buy or something or the people were going mad. But it wasn't pulled from the shelves. Maybe just in that store. She should have gone to Target or WalMart
:)
