I got hit in the back of my hand with a hockey puck while doing lines about 2 or 3 weeks ago, it was very swollen for that day but the swelling was gone the next day and no bruise ever appeared, yet it is still sore now and is starting to get annoying

Hand injuries are the most problematic. Hold your hand straight, fingers fully extended. Place your other hand under the middle joint ( knuckles) and bend your fingertips downward at the first joint ( as far as they can before the middle joint begins to move. Be aware of any pain and its location. Remove your supporting hand and bend your fingers so your fingertips are touching the pads at the base of each finger. Again, be aware of any pain. If there is pain during any 1 of these 2 steps, there is a good possibility of a broken bone. Rotate your thumb in a circular motion. If there is pain, the same prognosis applies. Now make a fist and watch for pain and also any bulging on the back of the hand. Any pain or bulges indicate tendon damage. The puck probably bent the tendons backward and strained them. If this is the case, use warm compresses and gently squeeze a tennis ball to work the tendons back into position. If there was pain during the finger bending, get the hand checked for breaks.

You might want to check with your doctor if the pain persists. You may have a chipped bone or simply internal bruising that will take a while to heal.
