Glad your mom's better.
Last snowfall past spring I was shovelling snow of the roof of this adobe because it wasn't draining properly...... slipped and fell to the ground below. I suppose I must have been there unconscious in the snow for quite some time before I regained my senses and struggled indoors.
Spent several months recovering the multiple blessings that derived from the experience.
Seem to be pretty well over it now.

That's excellent news about your mum! We hope she continues to make good progress....make sure you look after yourself too because the stress of worrying about others could creep up on you and knock you off your feet so you keep well too.
Tc has had a bad year with his RA and he has suffered with a lot of pain despite being on strong painkillers. He has, at long last, got an appointment through to see a Rheumatologist (15th January) and to have a Bone Scan. His ribcage has twisted a lot and his ribs stick right out on his right side and have disappeared on the left, his spine has also become more deformed which affects his neck, hips and legs in general. He has awful problems getting comfy at night and has very little sleep. He's been told by our GP that there are some new drugs available now for RA so hopefully he will get something to ease the pain he is in constantly.
I have had quite a good year healthwise this year, thank goodness. Last year I was in hospital for 12 days after having an asthma attack but apart from 1 cold and 1 chest infection I have been blessed with better health this year. My RA has been manageable although the cold and damp winter weather causes more pain in more joints but we try really hard not to let the RA rule our lives...it's very difficult sometimes when the pain is constant but we support each other as best we can.
No matter how we feel we know there are some folk who have it a lot worse than we do and we are grateful that we have such lovely folk here we can share our time with.
We extend our prayers to everyone who are suffering. xx

I had a strange and painful condition last spring; it was nothing serious but played havoc with my life for awhile, and maybe I learned something that can help some of the readers out there. I began awaking around 2 am every morning with terrible pain in my knees that radiated both up and down my legs. Nothing helped - aspirin, heat, ice, massage. I was getting in bad shape from not getting enough sleep; I had to go to work every day. I went to a rheumatologist and discovered that I had ilio-tibial band syndrome, bursitis in my ischial tuberosity (sit-down bone), and some other associated disorders. It came from being on my feet all day on concrete floors, and doing a lot of very fast walking, as well as running up and down the stairs. All of it could have been avoided if I simply had been in the habit of doing some stretching exercises every day. Most of the stretches I now do are similar to yoga stretches. I was surprised that I began having all these problems, as I am thin and walk quite a bit and am in pretty good shape. Now I know that everyone needs to stretch out each day. You can find good information online by searching under ITBand syndrome, sciatica, etc.

I had my 3rd heart attack in April - 2 more stents to add to the rest !! Went into a deep depression because of it (I'm only 48 - 47 at the time) 2 hospitalizations because of that - Dr won't let me go back to work because of it and the insomnia that goes with my depression, but our beloved Social Security doesn't care.
the one thing that helps me get through the day is Y/A and lately it has gotten so nasty I don't spend as much time here as I used to. Right now I have a new "saving grace" and that is helping with the reunion !!
Glad to hear about your Mom - know how worried you were about her !! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Well that is some good news! She must be a strong lady with some fabulous support!
Myself, yes there have been a few health problems, but they have been minor. My dad still has PD and will not recover, but he is still alive and he can kick my behind if needed. Sometimes I try to provoke him on purpose! Got to keep his blood going! lol

I haven't worked closely with kids in our children's ministry in 3 years. This September I started again. The second week, I came down with a cold. Last weekend I got another cold.
I've decided that CHILDREN ARE VIRUSES!
