I've look up in the internet and all i can find that it once was a venue for the 1998 Nagano Olympics and one of the best skiing place in Japan.. any other attractions besides skiing?

If you can travel south a little bit, the city of Matsumoto is beautiful with an awesome castle.

Kamikochi is also a popular hiking spot in Nagano if you have time.

And of course, be sure to take part in some hot spring action. I'm sure you can find hot springs and ryokans wherever you are out there.

Even if you don't ski you can ride on the gondola just to see the sights. There are plenty of onsen there. At the ski jump stadium you can ride the chairlift just to see what it looks like from top station. If there is not a jump meet on when you are there, there may be someone practicing. There are plenty of onsen in the area.
