...it might be a real vague description, but the movie had something to do with demonic evil forces, grappling with alien, almost god-like forces, over the soul of a mysterious yong girl, with strange psychic powers...

I'm gonna take a wild stab at this, as I myself, recall seeing a movie like this, oh, about 25 years ago, but I'm not 100% sure of the title, myself. The only film, off the top of my head, that even remotely resembles the premise you describe, sounds very much like the 1979 sci-fi/horror shocker, "The Visitor"...
