Just got 360, and I already have red ring of death.?

Question

I have the halo 3 special edition 360, and on first powerup I got the red ring of death. However, I shut it down, called tech support. (with lost signal later and couldn't call them back). Minutes later, my dad got the brilliant idea of moving it to a newer tv and test it. Since MS says wait 10 seconds and try again to see if it works, we waited 10 minutes. Now, it works...but I don't know if it can happen again and if I have a faulty Xbox. Any advice? Do I have a faulty system?

I've heard from so many people that they got the red ring of death from playing Halo 3, my brother just told me yesterday that he got the Red Ring of Death, but his was from playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I think they need better fans inside the system.

did u get 3 red lights? if u got three then i would say get a new 1 by returning it


if u got 4 red lights then that means that someting was not plugged in properly and that could explain why it worked the second time

U can just send it back on the warranty and microsoft will fix the problem and u get free month of Xbox Live for your troubles

are you sure it was three rings cuz mabey it was 4 and that means it couldn't detect the cords
if you had 3 the motherboard would have failed and it wouldn't work now

What did you expect, it's a Xbox 360.

Glad I got a PS3. I've had it for almost a year and no problems.

check the cords, make sure they are tight! the same happend to me!
