Batman was CREATED (not invented, Batman isn't a toaster) by Bob Kane. Bob Kane came up with the idea and the image.

Stan Lee was a writer at Timely Comics (which later became Marvel Comics). The story according to Stan the Man himself was that he was almost about to quit the comic business when his publisher Martin Goodman told him to come up with a new superhero group (because DC at the time had just come out with the Justice League comic and they were selling well). So Stan gave it one last try and came up with the idea for the Fantastic Four. I believe the next was the Incredible Hulk. Then Thor, Spider-Man, Iron Man, X-Men. Contrary to your post though, I've heard numerous times over the years that the Silver Surfer was not created by Stan Lee, he was created by Jack Kirby. The story I heard was that the sales for F4 were beginning to slip. So the staff was told to incorperate things that were popular amongst the youth back then. The Beach Boys/ surfing craze was getting going at the time and boom, you had the Silver Surfer. Remember that that was a story I've heard from numerous people.

As far as I know, Stan Lee is the inventor of Marvel Comics, anything under it. While Batman I think is under DC comics which I'm not quite sure who invented it. Batman is together with Superman, Wonder Woman which you observed is not in Marvel, right?
