It doesn't surprise me. I've been saying it for years. In 1996, his career was done. He hadn't been a factor for a couple of years. Then, like Bonds a few years later, he bulked up over the offseason. You cannot naturally do that in a period of three months. All of a sudden, his zip was back in his fastball, and he was almost unhittable. One rule in sports is this. As you move into your mid to late 30s, your skills do not improve. They diminish. Funny how that didn't happen with quite a few players, among them Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens...I could go on for a while.

I'm not at all surprised. Clemens is an egotistical, self-promoting jerk who puts himself ahead of his team (just look at all the allowances the Yankees gave him this season).

So he kinda fits the mold -- after all, doesn't the above description also fit a certain juiced-up home run hitter from a west coast team????

It's not suprising to me, it's impossible to dominate and win Cy Youngs in your 40s without a little chemical help.

He is guilty as sin and should not be put into the hall of fame.

Clemens said in his video that he never took steroids. And I totally believe him. Baseball players would never lie about that, now would they??? ;)

I must have missed the part where you provided proof to your statement.

Clemens taking steroids = Implication, not fact.

EVERYONE ALWAYS WANTS MORE. MONEY, CARS, HOUSES ETC. U HAVE TO KEEP UP W/THE YOUNG AND U CAN'T PHYSICALLY UNLESS U GET THE HELP. I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS RIGHT. BUT U GET OLDER U DON'T HEAL AS WELL OR AS FAST. AND WHEN U DON'T U GET REPLACED. THE YOUNG TAKE OVER. NO MORE FANS FALLING ALL OVER U. LESS MONEY TO WORK WITH. SAD BUT THAT IS THE WAY IT IS.
