I don't know if this qualifies as a sports movie, but since it's along the same vein as Rocky (could be called its predecessor), I have to say *Terry Malloy *(Marlon Brando's character) from On the Waterfront. GREAT movie!

I also love Rocky (mainly from the first Rocky movie) and Dave Stoller, the blonde kid from Breaking Away.

I love Field of Dreams, but I don't know if I could pick a favourite character from that one. And I like Kit Keller (the little sister) from A League of Their Own.

Mine is Kevin Costner's character if For the Love Of The Game. He reminded me a little of Jack Morris of the Tigers. A pitcher that has pitched 20 years with the organization he grew up loving and through the last game he would ever pitch he they were showing his life's trials.

Kevin Costner as Crash Davis in "Bull Durham"

Veteran catcher teaching a big, dumb rookie pitcher the way to "The Show".

Great lines all through the movie.
