Go to apple.com and download itunes. You need itunes to use an ipod and to import music in. Once you have itunes downloaded you can import CD's. When you put a CD in itunes should ask you if you want to import it to your library. Just click yes. If it doesn't there should be a button in the lower righthand corner that says import or something of the sort. Click on that and the songs will go in. Once it's done click on the library tab on the left of the screen. Once there just drag and drop the songs into the ipod tab. iTunes is really easy to use. Once you play with it for a while you'll love how simple it is. You can also download music from the itunes store but I wouldn't b/c it's rip off. You pay a dollar per song for drm encoded music which means it has a lot of restrictions. It will only play on an ipod and up to 5 computers. If your planing on keeping your music collection around for a while you may someday wind up unable to play the music you spent your hard earned money on b/c you ran out of computer authorizations. I would either download limewire and get your tunes for free or download from the amazon.com store. They have mp3 downloads that are drm free which is great. Their music selection isn't as good as itunes but at least you aren't getting ripped off. Good Luck!
