Yes and no.
If the animal is solely being killed for its fur for fashion, then I do believe it is a senseless death.
If the animal is also eaten then it is acceptable for me. For instance, there is a large rodent called Nutria that live in Louisiana and they don't belong there. They are originally from South America and got loose. They were brought there for a fur farm. The rodents are killing off bird and reptile species by eating the eggs and young. They could cause extinctions of species there. So they came up with a solution, trap the animals, skin them for their soft fur for us and send their bodies to Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, Florida where the alligators and crocodiles eat them. They are high in protein and a very good food source for the gators. The gators eat the entire skinned body. Head, bones, organs, etc. So its good for all parties involved. The animals in Louisiana can get a foothold again, the trappers make their money, the fashion fools get their soft fur, and the gators in Florida get a nutritious meal (far better than chickens, what is normally fed to gators)
Where as animals like minks, they are only skinned, not eaten and that is a waste. But rabbit fur, rabbit meat is eaten, so it is more acceptable, IMO.

If fur is murder, so is being a meat eater, dairy consumer, wearing all kinds of leather (handbags, shoes, coats, pants, etc), and using some cosmetics and toiletries made by some of these well known cosmetics companies.

if the animal is being killed only for its fur, then yes. but if the animal was being killed to provide food to others anyways (which is the purpose of animals), then no, because by throwing its fur away, your just wasting.
