Check for a 'dragging break` or bad bearing.
Drive a short distance and stop and feel
the wheel hub. If it's hot, it's one of the two.
Unless you're an experienced wrench, it's a 'pro fix`.
Shouldn't be too bad on cost.
Everythings right out there.

sounds like a brake dragging could be a parking brake cable or brake hose does it have rear drum brakes or disk brakes?
it could also be a caliper or wheel cylinder. also these cars are common for a oil pan leaking onto the exhaust right next to the catalytic converters if your pretty sure that it is coming from the rear then that is probably not a concern.

One of your brakes could be stuck. Or the bearings. Or something electical. Do not mess around with this. Take it to a garage and have a proper inspection and quote.

you should do check ups on your wires, brakes and other moving parts. your car is quite old so some of your wires must be loose and your mechanical stuff needs oil to move quietly and less friction, sometimes friction causes burning smells

the local garages check brakes for free or ask about a free safety inspection and report then shop the work around for prices

yep that's how cars smell when they get a little used! its mainly b/c of the oil sludge that formes underneath ur car (mostly the engine). take it for a wash if it bothers u! otherwise its fine.
