I just hurd that it is against the law for a married person to have sex with anyone that is not thier husbund. We have been split up for about a year now and we are both seeing and sleeping with other ppl. The only reason we have not got the divorce yet is cause of the money, Does that mean it is against the law to sleep with other ppl???

In most states, yes, but hardly any of them enforce it.

Honestly, it's really not a good idea to be dating and having sex(thus creating babies) with other people if you aren't ready to be married. Not a good example for teenagers. Divorces don't cost THAT much. Maybe as low as a couple hundred $$. In NC you can get a divorce for $90.

He could claim he's not sleeping with his partner, and could claim you are and take you for everything you are worth. He can file for divorce on grounds of adultery, which that's what it is, and you won't be able to do much about it. Even if he's sleeping around as well, you can't prove it. So my advice is to not be doing that until everything is finished.

Well you're basically committing adultery because you are STILL married. The fact that it costs money to get a divorce doesn't mean you can phuck around whether you've been seperated for a year or not.
Edited to add: and for those who think they're in the know. MANY of the states still have laws on the books that make it "illegal" to have sex with someone else while still married. Those laws just aren't enforced because no charges are made. If Charges ARE made those laws ARE enforced. In a number of states it IS illegal to have sex before marriage even. Separation is NOT a disillusionment of marriage...only a final decree of Divorce can do that.

In the Middle east you could be hanged or throw rock until death but in America you are free to have sex with anyone even animals like dogs or even cats. This is a free nation.

One caution is don't sleep with too many men because we do have the HIV virus and many other diseases everywhere unless you don't care about life as one knows from religions, we all go to heaven for eterity so why we need to be scare of death or even a disease like HIV?

I can't figure that one out yet. Why humans actually worry of death when death means eternity of life of being immortal?

it's still called adultery. divorce isn't that expensive as long as you are both in agreement of the settlement of issues. it only gets expensive when you add lawyers. you can prepare your own divorce online these days. stop making excuses and be done w/it since you've both obviously have moved on w/your lives. set a better example for your kids. you can also get a qickie divorce in vegas as well,so stop cheating and get on with it. yes it's against the law in most states but rarely is it enforced but it is still considered adultery.

I don't think it's anyones business but your own what your doing, since your both seeing other people no one needs to know what your doing in your free time. You have been separated as well, I think it leans more towards cheating spouses than two adults who have split and both are seeing others now.

I hope you are practicing safe sex. A child born to you while you are still married to current husband will be considered by law to be his child. A really messy situation. Get a divorce, quick!

Good heavens-what country do you live in? Iraq?
If the courts had time to chase around everyone who is sleeping with someone else they would be in an even bigger mess than they are now.
Relax, be happy, and for the sake of your stress level (if not your conscience) start saving money for the divorce.

Didn't you learn that "sex" got you in trouble with the first one? Can't keep your panties up, huh?

Check with your lawyer. Some states frown on such action and some include it as part of the "separation agreement". Your lawyer is the best source for your question.

It is not against the law to sleep with other people but, you took and oath in the presence of god for better or worse. The only time one should be sleeping around if they are not married it is a sin upon both of you. Even if you both agree it is not what god wants us to do.

best of luck

I hate to tell you this but most people have extra marrital affairs which include sex.

Nobody gets arrested for adultry any more since lawyers can not have affairs with their clients. (They changed the cannons that lawyers are supposed to be squeeky clean like everyone knows they arent.)

You have been separated. Now if you two are in the military that would be a different story.
