Are you the giver? Are you the taker?

Are you a giver to some and a taker from others who give to you?

Are all your relationships equal (not exactly 50/50, but balanced) and reciprocating in nature?

i'm 46.
xanadu, and i loved that movie :), in all of my relationships i have been the giver so much so it all together has cost me something over $250,000; cost my mother $5,000 and her mental health and i've ended up with absolutely nothing after filing 4 bankruptcy.
u want an example...my second ex filed 4 divorce after 1 1/2 yrs marriage...no children, no real assets, $125,000 in debts of a home and cars. 6mths before she filed my dad passed away and in his will left everything he had 2 my mom. well my ex and her atty during the divorce also sued my mom claiming 1/2 of my dads inheritance 2 my mom belonged 2 my soon 2 b ex because she was married 2 me. cost my mom $5,000 in atty fees 2 fight it and during the process had a stroke and lost her pervibal mind. wanna take 3 guesses who ended up with that $125,000 debt?

i could care less about the money as i can earn that back...but i can never have my mom back the way she was and can and will never forgive them 4 that.

my last live-in gf claimed i was her "soulmate" and when she left a few months ago i had helped her with over $80,000 2 pay off her credit card bills, dr bills etc under the premise that she said we would b married...when she left she said she didn't think i'd ever b able 2 help her 2 become financially stable but her boss could and thats whom she went 2. she's 46

evidentally no gal i've ever met understands the words thrthfulness and honesty, doesn't know they are different and doesn't practice them religiously.

ist wife and i lost our son when he was stillborn...she left soon after blaming me 4 the death.

annulment wife married me 1 month after she was divorced. i helped her out buying her a car and other stuff. she had went back 2 ny 2 finish out her semister at college...she called 3 days later saying her divorce papers said neither party shall marry except 2 each other 4 a period of 1yr and if she stayed married 2 me she'd lose custody of her son...what could i do, i don't want anyone 2 lose their child.

i know u didn't ask 4 a novel with ur question, and i'm sorry i gave u one but yes many relationships r one-sided and mine definately have been.

learn from my mistakes and from what shakespeare wrote..."this above all else, to thine own self be true".

good luck and GOD bless.
