Because they don't have to look at another guy getting it on (let alone with a chick they find attractive).
Not to mention the fact that two is always better than one.

Well I believe lesbians are memorizing in the fact that it is two woman who may be practicing sex. The woman's body is is like a fine piece of art. And most men are hetero sexual. It is only natural for them to be attracted to someone of the opposite sex. Most lesbians I have come to know claim that they are very sexually active. That is something men tend to brag about and desire for themselves. They may not be attracted to a lesbian; but attracted to the idea of having a mate which gives the same kind of affection. And affection is something women excel at.

I've thought a great deal about this myself, and I would like to answer your question for you, however I must warn you that the conclusion I've come to is a bit complicated and it will take some explaining. Most people fall back on the "more is better" idea. Essentially the assumption is that because men like one woman, two women doubles the pleasure or experience. However I think there is a fallacy inherent in this philosophy. It's too simplistic. If only one man enjoyed the idea of lesbianism, then you could write it off as an abberation, an anomaly of one man's fetish. Lesbianism, however, as a fantasy is as close to a universal attraction for men as one can find. Which leads me to think there is something deeper.
So we have to explore this idea. If lesbianism is simply the pleasurable idea of two women having "adult relations" than theoretically i could find two very ugly lesbians and that should work for men. After all, they're women and they are having sex, so that fufills the requirement of "more than one". But i think i could gaurantee most men would protest against that image. they would want the women to be "hot." However, if i take two "hot," naked women and sit them inert side by side without interaction whatsoever, again i think this would not fulfill the requirements of the fantasy. So, i am led to believe that its not the number of women (i.e. more is better) or the "hotness" of the women.
Instead, my conclusion is that there is a deeper, possibly more scientific reason. Of course I am not a scientist, and i've never done any experiments other than "thought" experiments like the ones above. However, ultimately, here is what i believe: The attraction men have to lesbianism isn't about the women themselves but what they are doing and what it signifies in the male brain. Obviously most men entertain lesbian fantasies with the end-state goal to join in. When men see or think about lesbianism, i believe it triggers a latent, primordial signal in men's minds. All female animals have their ways of telling their male counterparts that they are sexually ready. Human females are no different: batting eyes, flirtatious mannerisms, etc. These actions however can be difficult to decipher and men are well-known to misinterpret. Here's the bombshell: my schemas on this subject have led me to believe lesbianism is an ancient, primal way of letting men know they are ready for copulation. which would explain why they always imagine themselves joining. Here's the clincher: No Man really fantasizes about REAL lesbians, because REAL lesbians wouldn't have anything to do with men. that's why they're lesbians, right? what they fantasize about is half-lesbians or bi-sexuals possibly, but i really think it is fully hetero-sexual women who "get themselves in the mood" by occuping themselves right before the man comes along.
i admit, its very, very far-fetched and i'm probably way off, but the "more is better" reason just doesn't sit well with me as it is too simplistic and doesn't explain some of the anomolies i've presented above. hope i've helped

The men you are thinking of are probably not thinking about the love the two women share. I think it is more of a 'two women at the same time' fantasy that attracts some men to lesbian women.

Because they're HAWT. But they're only attracted to the lipstick lesbians who have overtly sexual and empowering feminine characteristics. I know these ladies are beautiful and confident about themselves and for some reason, guys have a thing when seeing two girls making out.

I was really attracted to one, but I didn't know that she was one. She was just so attractive to me, like any other woman. I offered to have dinner with her then found out she was gay but had dinner anyway. She was aloof and made it a point that she didn't like me, even though I paid for the dinner.
