Been in a papermill for 13 years now, been thinking about maybe getting my CDL start driving a truck.
Just tired of politics and all the other stuff that comes with closely working with other people.
I'm 44 maybe I'm having a midlife crisis can anybody relate??

As a long haul driver? Or short run, stay at home?
If you have a family do short runs. But these are what every trucker wants, so you will have tons of competition for the good jobs.

If you are single...long haul can get lonely unless you have someone who can go with.

You will still have to deal with people...on the road. They do some pretty stupid things there too.

Its good money though

I think it's a great idea, although truck driving is a treacherous, tedious and sometimes dangerous job. And yes, I HATE working with people.
Have you thought of computer repair or something like that where you can make a decent living, but you don't have to deal with hardly any people.
Good Luck !

I MUCH prefer working with animals or by myself - people play too many stupid games, have too many moods, and act before thinking much of the time.

Driving has its downs too - remember, PEOPLE drive other vehicles that you have to share the road with - and you never know WHAT they are thinking or are going to do next. Trust me, I know.

I have found the best way to work with people is when YOU are the boss - then everyone has to play by YOUR rules. Try it - it just may be the answer to your woes.

I agree. I happen to be an introvert; although I talk to people and have many acquaintances, I do prefer not to be in their company.
