even if it was right, do you think it was right to fire him on CHRISTMAS EVE!? and who do you think they'll hire?

well, if it was going to happen, it was going to happen regardless of timing. probably not the best time to do it, but from a business standpoint, it could be the best time since there are no games played today.

i'm not sure it was the right move. i'm one who thinks that the Bulls have been OVER-achieving in recent years, based on their talent level. Ben Wallace is old, and not the same defensive force he once was. the rest of the team is young and lacks ideal leadership and a go-to type player. they were always a jump-shooting team who won with defense, so when the shots don't fall, like this year, it can get ugly fast.

i heard they aren't looking to hire until after the season, so i'm guessing they'll make due with an interim coach for the rest of the year for now.

When teams are struggling like the bulls, the first person to blame is the coach. Even though sometimes the coach has nothing to do with the struggles, it is alot harder to get rid of players than coaches. Skiles was a great coach but the kobe trade and contracts lingered throughout the season for the players so i think that caused some problems. Should've made the trade.

Don't feel bad for Skiles. Unless he's really dense, he's a millionaire. He should be fine. I know it's Christmas Eve, but it's not like he's going to wind up in the street. These coaches are never out of work for long.

It was not right to fire him on Christmas Eve...but it was the best thing to do. He was not giving the young low post players there due. Noah and Thomas are better and should get used. I just hope they find a coach who will allow them to play more and play Duhon less.

As for who they should hire...the best person out there and he has said he wants to coach again is and has to be Larry Brown. His system would work there and he knows the rivals.

No. It isn't Skiles fault. Look, the Bulls are a jumpshooting team with little else as offense. When you go cold then this is what happens. What can be blamed on Skiles is that he allowed his team to lose that defensive intensity they used to have. Despite all that, I think firing him will move the team backwards instead of forward.

Yes coaching a sport team is a business venture run by success and failure. It does not run on a regular calendar so his firing is fine. With a record like that you are bound to get fired. The fact it was Christmas Eve is just too bad.

There is no right or wrong or a good or bad time to get rid of a coach. It is big business and that is life in the fast lane. Every coach knows that these things happen frequently and it is just part of the job.

i guess its not the best time to lose a job on christmas eve but it could have been worse... this way scott can have a vacation during the holidays (yeah right!)...
maybe jeff van gundy would get the job... his teams are great defensively which is the true makeup of the bulls right now... his philosophies are rebounding and defense which is what the bulls are (7th in team rebounding, 10th in FG% against and 9th in pts against) great at...

YES but not Christmas Eve, John Paxson chooses to play the role of scrooge for christmas, but that just may save the Bulls, they need to find someone good now to coach them.
