try restarting your computer then loading GTA you might be running too many programs at the same time.

Prolly your vid card. I mean the loading screen wouldn't cause alot of memory usage but once the game starts it would therefor crashing it. Or you downloaded the copy and it s fake and that's why.

same probelm occured to me tooooo u just set all ur resolution, level of details,graphics to minimum then restart ur game and computer the better speed u will get and the game does not failssss otherwise u should change ur video card or the graphics card does not supports ur computer

It might be a registry issue. Maybe try cleaning up your reg and see if that helps, if not you might have to uninstall it then reinstall it. Or go here for answers, www.filefrontforums.com, they have a nice section on GTA there or go to www.lurkingmastermind.com and go to the games section and ask there, its where I go for all my answers.

First off, is it bootleg? Pirated copies tend to act up.
If not, you may need a new video card.

make sure you have done a full install, that means everything, the game and music etc.. i had probs with mine before similar to that
