In every day life practicality, it has not. In fact, things have become more difficult for many people that were hit with unemployment and the expensive value of goods and services that increased and keep increasing in contrast to wages, pensions and salaries that are moving with excruciatingly slow steps and will never equal those of the rest EU countries.
The only people benefiting from the Union are the multinational conpanies and the all the well established companies that can run higher profits with les expences on account of taxes as dues.

It benefits any European country to join or be part of the European Union. The only countries really left that haven't, are the poorer eastern bloc countries, like Bosnia, Croatia and the like. The Union created alot of "open border" policy between countries, which benefits their economies.
