Hate is a strong term. Let's just say that as I've gotten older I'm disliking it more and more. I am not a religious person so it's not a church thing for me. It rubs me the wrong way when people who I work with tell me all the things they want for Christmas from the spouses, bf's or family. They are adults for gosh sake. Can't they buy these things for themselves???? I personally don't ask for anything and don't want anything. I'd rather get the gifts for the children. I like to give money to the less fortunate. I feel uncomfortable asking for anything so I don't. It just doesn't feel right. I think people spend so much money for no reason it's obscene. And for what??? To make themselves look good?? To get a pat on the back?? We spend way too much on holidays. Why do people care so much about the material things this time of year???

You're kidding right?
This is the time of year when people are nicest to each other except in stores.
People donate, everyone's spirits are up (except yours) and generally people are nice to each other. Stop being such a scrooge and be glad you got to even see another Christmas or even have the money to buy other people stuff.
Ever think about that? I doubt it.
Obviously no one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy presents. So if you don't want to don't.
And if it makes you feel any better we didn't butcher any turkey's to eat tomorrow... but we do have a roast. Hey, at least it isn't a turkey =]
You obviously forgot the true meaning of Christmas... I'm really sad I feel bad for ya =[
I hope I don't sound like a jerk I probably do... sorry.
But Merry Christmas =]

I wouldn't say that I completely hate christmas, but there are parts of it I strongly dislike, like having people making me feel guilty if I didn't buy them a gift or being pressured into going to a christmas service at church.
But the parts of christmas I do like are spending time with family, and eating a big meal.

Don't worry, I'm the same way! I used to enjoy it when I was younger, but now it has just been so materialized and all of these people go out and buy stuff and then there's these articles on Yahoo on how more and more people are having problems paying off their credit cards. Urgh is right.

I don't HATE it.
I just don't like have to fight my way through crowds
of people to do regular grocery shopping. Not
finding things that I need because people think they
make great stocking stuffers. Some people actually
do get nicer during the holiday but a lot of others
start getting shorter tempers.

It's a huge annoyance.
All about spending money & bottom lines for the stores.
Not to mention all of the ungrateful people who will be getting all of this stuff that they have no use for.
Now, lets talk about all of the angry shoppers. Personally I love shopping but not when people are trying to knock me down to get stuff.
I have nothing bad to say about eating Turkey...I love turkey

it is not so much hating it, rather that others have money (I'm owed a lot of money for child support) to spend. I sit here by myself, as my daughter (18) is off with her friends - which is ok since I'm no real company anyway. I had my "Christmas" when my grandson was over Saturday night - that was good enough for me!

You just have to think of all the good things about Christmas especially if you are not a Christian. My bet is that you won't always feel that way but I agree - very stressful - glad when it is over - glad but broke!

I don't like it either. When I was a little kid I loved getting gifts but now I just don't care anymore, I'm not gonna get anything good, my family just gets me something cos it's Christmas. I don't see the point of this stupid holiday. I mean people seem to think they need to act differently just because of some day, it's silly.
