No. They are defending a teacher using his students are a capitive audience when he bash Christianity. He should be teaching the AP History instead of bashing another religion.
The first amendment does not protect fighting words.

The Dictatorship is in place.
The 2nd paragraph of the Declaration of Independence is where We the People are at today.

It seems to be the only bastion of defense left that has the balls to keep on fighting for all of this countries freedoms, not just the ones with high poll numbers.
If the extended outcome of every liberty could be determined at the onset, there would be no need for a Supreme Court, or the ability to craft amendments.

Judging by the rule of 'The Thumb' it's not hard to figure out where this question came from. The founder of the ACLU was a card carrying member of the Communist party. I should think it's not the last bastion, but something worth defending from the extremism that wants to destroy it...take for example the Elites praising the Pakistani President for jailing constitutional lawyers and judges.

The people who will do more than just whine about the 2nd amendment, are the last line of defnese. But, don't depend on anyone who says "you have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide", the central dogma of fascism.

They could be....they are in the business of defending the civil rights of Americans....You might not always agree with them, but their effort to follow the constitution is unarguable.
