I own an african spur turtle and live in Az ,,, I believe the turltle shld be hibernating but i hve seen it out twice in the last few days .. it looks very thin and will not eat anything ... when normally its eaten all the stuff on its plate .. im wondering if this is normal behavior for the winter or should i be worried

Maybe it is shy and needs to come out of its shell.

Sulcata's (African spur thighed tortoise) don't hibernate. Do a google search. Also, anything that's under wait should not hibernate. Bring it in for the winter.

African Spur Thigh tortoises must have a heated house in the winter! He very well may be sick from low temps.

leave it alone it's suppsoed to hibernate they sometimes come out during "winter ( which you don't really have there) don't try to overfeed it they shouldn't hibernate with lots of food inside . . make sure water is around and relax, turtles are very, very slow. ( I have several)
