I bought four of my friends christmas gifts with some early christmas money I had. This is the first year I have ever done anything like this and I spent 100 dollars total. Two DVDs, a halo 3 guide, two articles of jewelry (cheap from target), and a set of jumper cables (funny story).

My mom told me it looked like I was trying to buy their friendship. That wasn't my intention at all. Does it seem like I'm buying their friendship or does it seem like I'm just a good friend? Please answer honestly.

ive done the same thing...but except for a set of jumper cables..it was a fluffy pink bunny (now that my friend is actually hard to find)
anyways. I just think you are being a really good friend and your friends are lucky to have you as a friend... not because of what you buy them...but that you are willing to buy them such nice things.
Merry Christmas.

If they're already your friends, I don't see why she's thinking you're trying to buy their friendship. Personally, $100 is not overkill for 4 friends in my opinion.
