I have a hanging Christmas tree. Literally. It is suspended from the ceiling by a chain. It is so cool. It is hand-made. It has these cute ornaments from Hallmark. One of the ornaments is like 20+ years old. It's awesome.

I have a real Douglas fir, which has been sitting in a bath full of cold water for three days to have a really good drink. Now it is up and in a pot full of water to minimise shedding and it smells heavenly. It's always worth all the effort to me, to have a real tree.
I can beat you on that. Some of my ornaments are 45 years old and still going strong. Although I seem to buy more every year I still like the ones that we had when my children were young. It's all part of the Christmas tradition.
I'm trimming the tree and listening (and joining in) the Nine Lessons and Carols from King's College, Cambridge, on the telly.
Here's wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas wherever you are and, in the immortal words of Dickens, "God Bless us-Every One."

I've got an artificial tree with built in lights. The ornaments on it are nothing special, though some do date back about 20 years now.

Hey that sounds so cool. My family has the tree in a box. I love real x mas trees but dont like the idea of killing a tree that took about 10-15 years to grow just to use it for decoration.

You're going to hate me. We didn't even get one this year. We just got caught up in everything else and before we knew it, it wasn't worth putting one up, only to have it come down in less than 2 weeks.

This might be the first year in my 51 years that I haven't had one, but we usually get a balsam fir. We used to buy the Scotch pine, but we switched over the past 10 years or so. Fir needles are softer.

I love my tree this year! It's white with teal colored lights. All the ornaments are silver and teal; alot of peacock ornaments. Instead of garland, I used teal maribou feathers. It is beautiful; very girlie-girl!
