I have charter digital cable (and please, no get satellite tv, we can't...sorry) and I'm the only one in the house who has the dvr box (motorola) and the picture has been freezing off and on for the past few days but right now it's totally frozen on all channels. The other cable box upstairs is fine.
I tried unplugging the box, disconcerting the cable from it and it's still frozen in the same spot.

What else can I do?

Hi the only thing I can think of is to push and hold the power button for at least 20 seconds that may make it reboot and run a systems check. After you get it unfroze, try and run a Manuel systems check threw the menu options.
Hope this helped.

Charter Cable Dvr Box

You do not need the converter box if you have a tv with a QAM tuner. Most lcd and plasma tvs have that built in. Check your TV manual to see if you have that. If you got an older tv that does not have that then yes, you will need the converter box. You can just hook up the cable tv coax to your tv without any antenna. You will get all the local channels and probably a few more for free. You do not need to pay for cable tv to have that as its provided for free. Its basically the same stuff you get with an antenna it just comes in over the cable tv coax. And yes, even though its coming in over the cable TV coax you will need the converter box if your TV does not have that QAM tuner. edit: The reason you only receive a few channels is because you are using rabbit ears. Rabbit ears do not have good reach. They cannot receive weak signals or signals far away very well. Typically the best antennas are the roof mount outdoor kind not those rabbit ears.

1. Go to: "Research your answer" on your question page. 2. Type in: Motorola/DVR/Frozen box/Steps to take to unfreeze the DVR box? 3. Go to:#1. Although you have varied opinions, something is bound to "get to it."
