Hi guys,
Lately I started listening to Rock and Heavy Metal.
I'm almost 50 and when people see a 50 years old man listening to loud Rock music in his car, they mostly laugh!!!!!!
When I say Rock music I don't mean Avril Lavigne, I mean: Apocalyptica, Arch Enemy, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Drowning Pool, Evanescence, Korn, Linkin Park, Slipknot, S.O.A.D and Three Days Grace.
If you see me in my car listening to loud music, will you laugh?

Naggler, I just wanna say something, I do listen to Pop music and my favorite song of all times is when you're gone by Avril Lavigne.
I know many pop singers such as: Shayne Ward, Massari, Karl Wolf, Avril Lavigne, Nelly Furtado, Hilary Duff, Britney, Justin Timberlake, Maddona, Maroon 5, Nirvana, Nsync, Pussycat dolls, Akon, R-Kelly, Usher, Beyonce, Ashanti, Craig David, Enrique, Ronan Keating and Will Smith and I also know all their songs but try putting yourself in my situation.
You live in Dubai (The Most Luxuriant City On Earth), you work as a business man for a company that makes billions of dollars every year by selling properties, you can't sleep at night because every 5 minutes you get a phone call from the stock market, you have 5 children ages (24, 21, 17, 15, 13), You spend about 500000$ every year on your children's new cars, you have to have time for your children, and you can't complain about anything.
Doesn't that make you mad enough to listen to Cradle of Filth.

No as a 41 year old Metalhead I surely won't laugh because I do the same thing. Metal is meant to be played only one way...LOUDLY.
But I will also say this and I apologize in advance and really don't mean to be mean but.
You have drastically bad taste in Metal brother..
You listed almost every talentless worthless junk excuse for a Metal band going.
Brother...embrace the dark side, become a true Metalhead, throw off the chains of Nu-Metal dreck and glory in the Power of
Black Sabbath
Metallica
Judas Priest
Iron Maiden
Megadeth
And all the other REAL Metal bands out there that are so much better than these pale weak new versions
Sorry, didn't mean to preach. It's just that Nu-Metal sucks soooooo very badly compared to the old stuff You REALLY don't know what You are missing
There is a better Metal World out there...for You're Ears sake..try it.

Laugh at you? Me? No man, you have a good taste in music! Rock is for everyone, maybe they laughed because they were surprised at you. Honestly, I know a lot of people who's also at your age prefer to listen to Led, Scorpions or The Eagles, but hey they are also rock artists! In your case, you're more on the heavier side, and there's nothing wrong with that. Keep on rockin' man!

You don't have to be any certain age to listen to a type of music. Music is supposed to be a form of self expression, and real music comes from the passionate musician. You can listen to any type of music that you want to. There is no age limit! If I saw you in your car listening to loud music, the only thing that I would think about is the fact that you shouldn't turn your music up too loud because it impairs your vision, and I don't want your safety, nor anybody else's, to be in jeopardy on the road!

It's perfectly natural! The music's you listen too are Quite good, i like linkin park and korn and three days grace, i'd be dancing with you! Not laughing =D

Seeing as how metal was mainly from the 70's and 80's, no. However, I think it's funny for anyone to be listening to most of the bands you listen to.

No, I wouldn't laugh. My dad's your age and he perfers rock music. Evanescence, Three Days Grace, Buckcherry, Seether, Hinder, Shinedown, etc. It's perfectly natural.

Dude the 70s were about AC/DC and all those bands coming together.. What else do you expect them to listen to??

H.T...Welcome to the club, admission is free and the only requirement is to make sure your sound system in your vehicle throws out 50,000 watts of power so you can be confident no one else can out crank ya. Would I laugh??
