the middle of the afternoon?
(I'm not a peeping tom, I just have a full view of their driveway from my kitchen window and I am doing Holiday baking)

Like I said, I don't drink, so I didn't think about the whole gift giving aspect of it. PS, they have had knock down drunk fights over there several times, maybe thats why it concerned me. And yeah, I'm a nosy neighbor, I'll admit it! But I'm also a concerned neighbor. Our kids are friends.

No, it's not odd. Now mind your baking and let your neighbors mind theirs.

Maybe the neighbor is baking too, and needed some wine for a recipe. Or maybe someone just called to say they were bringing another person to dinner, and the neighbor decided more wine was needed for dinner. Or maybe the neighbor dropped and broke a bottle while getting it out.

That's just nosy. Even if you inadvertently noticed that he purchased wine so what? Perhaps he's French or maybe he just needs a drink. Do you see him stumbling in your yard or stepping in your garden or urinating on the side of your house? Otherwise it's none of your business. I hope that I don't live in your neighborhood.

Don't care for your points but this was a ridiculous question. Nosy.

Nope! I'd be going out for a bottle of wine if I was short a present for tomorrow, or if I was just invited to someone's house and needed a gift for the host/hostess.

Nothing wierd about it.

First how do you know when they are going to drink this bottle of wine.
Second you are too a peeping tom.
Third that is why I live on acreage so I can get smashed if I want to or run around naked without nosy neighbours looking on.

Gee your nosey! This could be a gift for someone or to be used in baking or to be chilled for later on (to drink at dinner).

Glad you're not my neighbor - this afternoon I bought a bottle of melon vodka & sour apple liquer for appletini's I'm serving tonight for friends.

not odd at all. he could've gotten it for someone as an xmas gift, or perhaps in preparation for a meal this evening. a lot of people also cook with wine, so he could be using it for that as well.

It doesn't matter if he buys wine, beer or a blow up doll. It isn't any of your business.
