is a 18 good score if i didnt even study and it was my first time taking it.

If it is out of 30, 18 is just over 15 which is half of the score. Maybe about a C+.

Keep trying and study so that you can raise the number.

The test is out of 36. The average score is 21 or so.

I scored a 30 the first time I took it and I didn't study either. I'd say definitely study next time.

When I took the ACT approximately five years ago it was out of 35 and 18 would be below average...i believe the national average is around 22.

No, you need to have at least a 20. Take some practice tests or by a workbook.( It kinda depends how old you are though)

I think it's good for first time so keep trying and you can do much better than that.
