My tips are inversely proportional to the service I receive. More problems, less tips. Works for me.

Well,a lot of times it is because the restaurants are being really cheap,& not hiring enough help. But you don't really know what the problem might really be. Maybe the server has a terrible headache, toothache or even might be really sick& just had to come to work to make ends meet. If for some reason you think that the restaurant service was terrible & you brought it up to the mgr. & he didn't handle it in the proper manner, then you need to write the company a letter,or at the very least to call them up. If it is a place that has a owner, you need to take it up with him. Otherwise, things will never get addressed that need to be.
then maybe they can hire people with better attitudes. But if you don't start saying something ,then it will not change

Society has changed. When was the last time you said "please and Thanks you"?
Be polite and treat the staff well, they are handling your food.
Remember serving the public is tough work.
Treat the servers with the respect you would like. Things will get better.
If you wish to complain, do do in a respectful manner. Explain your complaint calmly and quietly, ask for a reasonable solution.
Write a calm polite letter to the management. Businesses want customers to be happy so they will return and spend more money at their store.
Be polite and if the service still stinks..... find a new restaurant to use.
Money talks......... shop and eat where you are treated best. But remember you have to be a good customer to get good service.
Thanks

We eat out at least 4 times a week. Not fast food. (It's not that healthy). I have found that your right. Over the years Restaurants have cut back so much that the service and quality of food is horrible. I've spent as much as 125.00 for 2 adults and 1 child at Jennifers Lopez restaurant in Pasadena and wasn't impress.

I run into this problem all the time, it doesn't matter if you are eating in a chain restaurant or at the Ritz Carlton. Service with a smile is definately a thing of the past!!

I find if the wait staff is horrible, no matter how good the food is, I'm unlikely to go back. I'm 38 yrs. old and I think it's just another generation.

Nope, it's just you.
Think about it....
The more you go out, the more you have to compare it to, which in turn makes you more critical of things, or more tolerant, depending on your personality.
But that's just my humble opinion.
